Improving the CDR Process and our ITAD Recycling Services

OUT WITH THE OLD . . .

For years now, CDR Global has had one way of receiving and processing equipment. When a shipment was received in the CDR Global warehouse, it would first go to our triage department to be sorted and palletized with similar equipment. For instance, all PCs would be added to one pallet while iPads would be added to a separate pallet. At this point, there was a count of all the equipment, a count tag was added, and then those pallets were sent to the correct department for processing. Once the equipment was received in the correct department, all the information from each device was captured and the audit began.

. . . IN WITH THE NEW

What has changed?

Our new process begins in triage where all information is now captured from each device as soon as it arrives in our facility.

Now, when equipment is received in our triage department, all make, model, and serial numbers are captured at this stage before it goes to audit.

HOW THIS IMPROVES THE PRODUCTION PROCESS

You may be wondering how this will improve the CDR Global process? Here are just a few reasons why this is beneficial, not only to CDR Global, but for our clients as well:

  • Quicker device reporting to our clients
  • More accurate info for sales projections
  • Captured serial information for device management release, before going to audit
  • Helps improve our ITAD security by capturing data more quickly and accurately
  • Having a record of the ITAD equipment as soon as it enters the building

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR CDR GLOBAL CLIENTS?

Our clients can now receive a serialized report of what items were received in our warehouse before the auditing process even begins. These reports can be accessed through our client portal, HERE.

CONCLUSION

“This new process in our triage department will allow us to provide faster, accurate reporting of received equipment to our clients while it’s awaiting audit. It will give our clients time to have their assets released from their management systems before the assets reach the auditing stage of our process. It will also benefit CDR internally, giving us more detailed information of what assets are available to process.” – Royce Fletcher, Production Manager.
